Meyerton SASSA Office Closed Until Further Notice — Beneficiaries Must Go to Vereeniging or Sebokeng
The Meyerton Local Office is shut following the commercial building fire on 21 July 2026. No reopening date has been set. Additional staff are deployed and waiting at Vereeniging and Sebokeng.
If you need SASSA services in Meyerton, you cannot go to the local office right now. The office is shut. It closed following the fire that tore through the commercial block on the corner of Gallaway and Loch Street on 21 July 2026. SASSA has not announced a reopening date. Damage assessments are still underway.
SASSA has confirmed the closure is temporary but has given no indication of when the Meyerton office will reopen. The agency says further updates will be communicated once the damage assessment of the building has been concluded.
Both the Vereeniging and Sebokeng offices are accepting Meyerton beneficiaries. SASSA says extra staff have been deployed at both locations specifically to manage the increased volume of clients. If you are travelling from Meyerton to either office, consider going as early as possible.
